Chapter 9  IN THE CONGREGATION

The home is the true center of the Church’s life. The center of a congregation’s fellowship is the Lord’s Table; the center of its activity is its meeting for prayer; the center of its testimony is the home. A congregation is what its homes are. The gifts of preaching and teaching may be greatly manifested but the witness is in the home. And there is where the woman’s influence tells most. There she builds life – for the present and for the future.

Chapter 10 MINISTRY THROUGH THE HOME

The home affords an ideal and unequalled sphere for spiritual service of a peculiarly fruitful and rewarding kind. Everybody enjoys a home-like home. For everyone, it is the normal setting in which to find companionship, comfort, rest and security. Every one needs a home and appreciates being in one. Chapter 11 THE SINGLE WOMAN

True Fulfillment is in God’s Will

Chapter 12  TRUE AND FALSE MINISTRY

The child of God must always bear in mind that there is a worship and a ministry that are counterfeit. They partake of the nature of Cain’s offering to God. They are man’s work given to God or wrought for God as praise or service or worship. God abhors them and rejects them. They are a waste of precious time.

Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “You are God’s building; God gave me the gift of grace whereby like a skilful architect I laid a foundation; and on this foundation another builds; but let each take heed what he builds thereon – ‘thereon’ I say, for other foundation can no man lay, than that already laid, which is Jesus Christ...

Chapter 13  SPIRITUAL VALUES IN MATERIAL THINGS

image033Our Lord said, “For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward” (Mark 9:41). What gives this simple act of courtesy its spiritual value is the fact that it is done in Christ’s Name, for his glory, to one who belongs to him. For the illustrating of this truth our Lord took a cup of water – something of the smallest intrinsic value. Yet this almost valueless thing becomes something of eternal spiritual value.

A woman ministers much in material things...
