FOREWORD
There are three tenses in the Gospel: past, present and future; and the present tense is the part of the Gospel with which Christian people, in general, seem to be least familiar. We all know that when we receive Christ as Savior, our past sins are dealt with and blotted out, and that when we die, or when the Lord comes again, we shall be forever with him. Past and future are wonderfully provided for in the Gospel. But what about the present?
Comparatively few Christians have dared to believe that they have a Savior who is just as able and just as faithful in providing a miraculous experience of salvation in the present tense, now and here while we are on earth, as He has done for our past and will do for our future. But this present tense of the Gospel is a vital part of the Good News – it is the Good News of Victorious Life now!
It is made luminously clear and powerfully convincing in this much needed book by Reginald Wallis. His ministry at America’s “Keswick” (Keswick Grove, New Jersey) has been greatly blessed to many as it has in his own city, Dublin, Ireland, and in Great Britain. There is nothing new in the wonderful truths given here; the British “Keswick” has held them forth for more than half a century past, and they have been known, believed, accepted, and rejoiced in ever since the Holy Spirit first gave them to the apostle Paul and other writers of the inspired Scriptures, both New Testament and Old. But the truth of victory in this present life is utterly new to every one who sees and enters into it for the first time; then, indeed, realizing that “he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Co. 5:17).
The testimony and teaching of Reginald Wallis are to be welcomed indeed, and are sure to be a channel of blessing to many who read, for they are based on the inviolable Word of God, of which its Author says: “It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Is. 55:11). And God himself describes what it is He pledges himself to accomplish: “For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree” (12-13).
That is the Victorious Life.

PREFACE
“Thanks be unto God, who leads me on from place to place,
in the train of his triumph,
to celebrate his victory over the enemies of Christ”
(2 Co. 2:14, Conybeare).
The contents of this little book present the substance of a series of addresses which the Lord graciously privileged me to give at various conferences and other gatherings of his people on both sides of the Atlantic. So numerous have been the requests that these simple messages might appear in written form, that after much delay and hesitation, I now feel constrained in the Lord to respond to this desire.
Multitudes of Christian men and women today are hungering for a sane, well-balanced, Biblical message of victory over sin and self. Some are seeking for it along avenues which lead to unscriptural extremes in “holiness teaching”, which may result in fanaticism of a distressing nature. When the Lord Jesus dealt with the sin question at Calvary, He fully met all the righteous requirements of divine justice, completely vanquished all the believer’s enemies, and thereby provided for every need of saint and sinner for time and eternity:
“Great victory over sin, and death and woe,
Which needs no second fight, and leaves no second foe.”
May the dear Lord graciously vouchsafe his unction upon these written meditations in even greater measure than He has been pleased to bless the spoken word, granting the illumination of the Holy Spirit to all honest seekers after the real and only highway to joyous, overcoming, and compelling Christian testimony.
